Epinephrine has been used in various forms for a long time to relieve the symptoms of asthma.
Indeed, the ancient Chinese prescribed a naturally occurring plant that contained a form of it. However in the early 20th century, epinephrine use came into being.
Over the counter Epinephrine, however, has proven safe over time.
In 1895 Epinephrine was first isolated by Polish physiologist Napoleon Cybulski. It was first synthesized in 1904.
Though widely called by it’s traditional name adrenaline outside of the United States, epinephrine is used as the term for a wide variety of consumers and professionals in the United States.
